Ben Hoffman is a writer based in New York City, where he has lived since 2011, working in law, publishing, bookselling, and advertising. His stories of queer life capture critical moments of alienation, shame, and longing, with little bursts of connection and humor. Loneliness within intimacy and intellectualism or sexuality as armor are key themes, as his characters find new ways to sabotage their chances at happiness, but keep reaching for it anyway.
